After seven years of contentious litigation, Goodman Law Group | Chicago (GLG) recently secured a complete victory for clients Andrew Larwood and Allen Inman following a two-week jury trial in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
The dispute originated in 2019 when Larwood and Inman were forced to file suit against Brown Gibbons Lang and Company and Brown Gibbons Lang Real Estate Partners to collect unpaid commissions owed to them. In response, the defendants filed counterclaims based on allegations (baseless) of trade secret misappropriation, seeking millions of dollars from our clients.
GLG Founder David Goodman and Partner Kalli Nies led the trial team, with significant contributions from Associate Mike Hutcherson, Director of Legal Support Gordon Ferguson, and Junior Paralegal Maya Ramamoorthi. Following the lengthy trial, the jury wholly rejected the defendants’ counterclaims. Furthermore, the jury awarded Larwood and Inman everything they sought, which notably included an award for punitive damages against the defendants.
