“It is essential to keep the client’s objectives at the forefront throughout litigation. It can be as simple as a favorable ruling, but sometimes, lengthy litigation can stand in the way of those objectives. Staying focused on what the client is ultimately seeking brings clarity to our decision-making and ensures we can meet our client’s needs.”
Michael is a skilled litigator who focuses his practice on commercial litigation. He has achieved favorable outcomes for clients as first and second chair in jury trials. Michael draws on his experience gained as a law clerk through the North Carolina Judicial Fellowship and as a trial lawyer to evaluate claims, develop strategies, and implement those strategies proactively to advance his clients’ interests.
Before entering private practice, Michael was a Judicial Fellow for the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts and a project attorney with a legal business solutions technology provider. During law school, he served as an intern providing legal support to Superior Court and Court of Appeal judges in North Carolina.
Michael is also an avid runner and recently completed his first marathon. He finds that the diligence required to train for a race is comparable to the preparation required for litigation. In both cases, an appreciation for the process is what leads to desirable outcomes.
